Senior Project Manager

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale, transformational projects in the financial and tax sectors at a national level. This role involves overseeing multi-year, multimillion-dollar programs, including digital tax systems, electronic invoicing frameworks, legal harmonization efforts, and engaging various national stakeholders. The position ensures all initiatives align with overarching strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed planning, execution, and delivery of extensive projects, ensuring alignment with national priorities and objectives.
• Supervise day-to-day operations, coordinating across different project streams like information system development, legal framework implementation, and public awareness initiatives.
• Manage the rollout of national tax reforms in phases, harmonizing technical, legal, and public engagement components while meeting strict timelines and performance targets.
• Disaggregate complex tasks into actionable work packages to facilitate efficient execution, progress tracking, and successful delivery.
• Define and maintain a RACI matrix to establish clear roles and responsibilities among stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and address project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to preserve schedule and scope.
• Maintain effective communication with government agencies, legal advisors, IT teams, and external consultants with regular updates on project status.
• Oversee budget management for multimillion-dollar programs and ensure optimal allocation of resources.
• Manage escalations and resolve conflicts to keep projects on track.
• Regularly monitor and report on project progress against deliverables, ensuring quality standards and timelines are met.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or related fields; Master's degree is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or Prince2 are highly valued.
• Over 15 years of experience managing complex projects within the financial, tax, or public sectors; ERP system experience is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience implementing national financial and tax regulations, including e-invoicing systems.
• Proven track record of managing long-term national projects with significant scale and complexity.
• Strong competency in project planning, communication planning, and escalating issue management.
• Expertise in breaking down intricate initiatives into work packages, applying RACI methodologies, and managing stakeholder alignment.
• Advanced skills in risk management, mitigation approaches, and handling complex project challenges.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, monitoring interactions across governmental, legal, and IT domains.

Preferred Experience

• Experience overseeing national projects specifically in financial or taxation domains.
• Capability in delivering multi-year national agendas and implementing financial systems on a large scale.
• Practice in leading awareness campaigns aimed at national coverage.
• Familiarity with information systems integration in FinTech and public sector contexts.
