Role Overview

As a Senior Project Manager at Cognite, you will lead complex AI implementation projects that empower some of the world's largest industrial organizations to modernize their operations. Beyond timeline management, your role requires full ownership of project outcomes from contract signing through deployment and value realization. You will collaborate closely with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure projects deliver measurable business impact and lasting success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of Industrial AI implementation projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through adoption and value realization.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, customer results, and commercial performance of projects.
• Work collaboratively with Solution Architects, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Product teams, and Customer Success specialists to develop high-quality solutions.
• Convert customer goals into clear success metrics and facilitate Value Realization Workshops to demonstrate project impact.
• Oversee project financials including forecasting, revenue recognition, profitability, cost control, and reporting.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with customer stakeholders, lead steering committee meetings, and ensure transparent communication throughout project phases.
• Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and scope changes while maintaining governance and transparency.
• Support customer adoption through change management, enablement, and training, while uncovering opportunities to expand value for customers.
• Drive continuous improvement of delivery methods by applying Cognite's project management office (PMO) methodologies, playbooks, and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex software, SaaS, cloud, or enterprise technology implementation projects.
• Proven experience leading enterprise or industrial digital transformation programs with multiple stakeholders and technical streams.
• Technical proficiency with APIs, system integrations, cloud platforms, data architectures, and enterprise IT systems to engage effectively with technical teams and support informed decisions.
• Strong business and financial insight including forecasting, revenue recognition, margin oversight, and project profitability management.
• Experience in one or more industrial sectors such as Energy, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Utilities, Power & Renewables, or Life Sciences.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and project governance frameworks like Scrum, PMP, or PRINCE2.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with ability to interface confidently with technical personnel, customers, and executives.
• Proficient use of project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum.
• Experience with leading cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Background in Industrial IoT, SCADA, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
• Exposure to AI, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, or Analytics implementation projects.
