Job description

About Cartology

Cartology, a leading retail media company under the Woolworths Group, provides innovative omnichannel marketing solutions to FMCG brands, helping them grow by connecting with customers effectively. The company pioneers retail media, combining digital and physical retail touchpoints to redefine commerce media in Australia and New Zealand.

Role Overview

As the Senior Product Manager for Digital Ad Tech, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of Cartology's core advertising technology systems. This role involves transforming legacy infrastructures into intelligent, scalable platforms to enable seamless and efficient advertising across online e-commerce and physical retail environments. You will drive the development of next-generation capabilities like Agentic Commerce and shape how Australia's largest retailer leads in retail media innovation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a modern retail-media-focused ad server to replace existing legacy systems, serving Australia and New Zealand markets.
  • Integrate digital advertising delivery across Cartology’s platforms, including e-commerce channels and in-store media such as digital displays and radio.
  • Increase revenue opportunities through CPM-based pricing models, targeted campaigns, and automate billing processes based on actual advertisement impressions.
  • Lead product strategy and proof of concept initiatives for Agentic Commerce, positioning Cartology at the cutting edge of AI-powered commerce experiences.
  • Translate complex ad serving architectures and business requirements into clear product scopes, strategic roadmaps, and prioritized engineering backlogs.
  • Align cross-functional teams to ensure all platforms meet standards for security, data privacy, and comply with industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience in product management with a proven track record in Ad Tech platforms, Publisher Technology, or Ad Serving infrastructure.
  • Strong technical expertise in ad server architecture, ad decisioning systems, campaign forecasting, and yield optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing impression-based (CPM) commercial models, pacing algorithms, and automated billing based on impression delivery.
  • Excellent ability to convert complex engineering and commercial objectives into actionable product plans and technical roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering advertising products that span e-commerce and physical retail channels, working within matrixed cross-functional teams.
  • Preferably experienced with Retail Media Networks, eCommerce ad tech, AI-driven commerce technologies such as Agentic Commerce, and client-facing self-service tools.

Work Environment and Benefits

  • Flexible hybrid working arrangement combining office time in Surry Hills (Sydney) with remote work (2 days work-from-home).
  • Engage in a meaningful role contributing to teams that enrich communities through retail media innovation.
  • Opportunity to join a global enterprise offering extensive career growth and a broad professional network.
  • Access to wellbeing programs including 24/7 mental health app support (Sonder app).
  • Competitive leave policies providing flexible time off for personal priorities.
  • Exclusive discounts across Woolworths Group brands and participation in rewards programs that recognize impactful work.
