Job description

About the Role

This opportunity, provided on behalf of a partner company, invites experienced analysts located in Australia to join as a Senior Product Analyst. The role centers on involvement within a product team responsible for matching algorithms, relationship features, messaging, and AI-enhanced user experiences.

As a key analytical contributor, you will collaborate closely with product managers and senior leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of product initiatives, directing investment towards areas that deliver the highest impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of end-to-end product experiments, including formulating hypotheses, defining test durations and sample sizes, assessing feasibility, conducting A/B tests, and interpreting statistical results.
  • Integrate diverse product metrics across multiple domains into a unified measurement framework, correlating core company metrics with acquisition, retention, reactivation, and churn drivers.
  • Serve as an independent analytical authority, ensuring that product decisions are evidence-based rather than driven by assumptions or intuition.
  • Pinpoint opportunities for growth where minimal changes or investments can generate significant improvements in key performance indicators.
  • Align product metrics with overarching business objectives, performing estimations and cost analyses while monitoring for early signs of deviations from expected outcomes.
  • Collaborate thoroughly with product managers to generate, prioritize, and validate product hypotheses.
  • Investigate anomalies and unexpected shifts in metrics, determine root causes, and proactively identify potential product issues before escalation.
  • Evaluate product efforts against wider organizational goals, offering clear, data-driven assessments of priorities and anticipated impacts.
  • Continuously enhance analytical methods and workflows by identifying opportunities for increased rigor and operational efficiency.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in product analytics, ideally within environments handling substantial or complex datasets.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications in mathematics, engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Solid practical expertise in mathematical statistics and probability theory.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with A/B testing, including aspects such as sizing tests, determining statistical significance, and result interpretation.
  • Strong command of SQL and Python for data extraction, processing, analysis, and visualization; familiarity with Superset is considered a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of product and marketing metrics including Lifetime Value (LTV), Cost Per Acquisition (CPA), retention, and conversion rates, as well as their linkage to business results.
  • Exceptional product acumen with the ability to interpret user behavior underlying quantitative metrics.
  • Ability to work autonomously with high ownership, independently discovering growth opportunities and driving initiatives to measurable success.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to challenge assumptions, verify data integrity, and cross-validate analytic outcomes.
  • Superior communication capabilities to articulate complex analytical insights clearly and produce recommendation frameworks centered on measurable impacts.
  • Experience with social platforms, dating services, gaming, or two-sided marketplaces is advantageous.
  • Practical knowledge of recommender systems is an added benefit.
  • Prior exposure to data-rich, high-volume product environments is preferred.

Benefits and Additional Information

  • Fully remote position with full-time engagement.
  • Annual entitlement of 28 calendar days of vacation.
  • 7 additional wellness days per year to be used for personal, family, or health recovery.
  • Incentive bonuses up to $5,000 for successful employee referrals.
  • Coverage of 50% of expenses related to professional training, international conferences, and industry meetings.
  • Employee discounts for English-language courses.
  • Health support including up to $1,000 gross yearly reimbursement toward self-arranged health insurance or eligible medical expenses for employees and close relatives when corporate insurance is unavailable.
  • Provision of workplace equipment and office or coworking space access where applicable.
  • Up to $1,000 gross reimbursement every three years to support remote employees’ workplace expenses such as coworking, home office setup, or internet costs.
  • Access to an internal gamified recognition program offering redeemable rewards including merchandise, team-building events, massages, and more.
  • Salary details or compensation range are disclosed during recruitment prior to employment.
