Senior Procurement & Demand Planner

About the Role

The Senior Procurement & Demand Planning Manager at Snoonu is responsible for managing the full procurement strategy alongside demand forecasting for the grocery Q-Commerce dark store network under Snoomart. This position bridges the Commercial, Supply Chain, and Finance functions by converting sales and category plans into precise demand forecasts, effective supplier agreements, and optimized inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle the entire demand forecasting process, integrating past sales data, promotions, seasonality, and category growth trends.
• Lead recurring Sales & Operations Planning meetings involving Commercial, Category Management, and Operations to harmonize forecasts, supply, and inventory objectives.
• Monitor forecasting accuracy and biases while refining models to reduce errors continually.
• Incorporate marketing and commercial promotional plans into demand and procurement needs.
• Formulate and implement category-specific procurement strategies balancing costs, service quality, and supply continuity.
• Negotiate pricing, payment conditions, rebates, and service agreements with significant suppliers and distributors.
• Create a framework to segment and evaluate suppliers, distinguishing strategic, preferred, and at-risk partners.
• Identify and onboard alternative suppliers to mitigate single-source risks on critical items.
• Manage supplier contract renewals and conduct regular business reviews with major suppliers.
• Determine target stock coverage and safety stock per category, balancing availability against inventory carrying costs.
• Detect slow-moving or excess stock and collaborate with Category Management to address issues.
• Work closely with Finance to track inventory investment relative to budget and working capital goals.
• Lead and mentor the Procurement Coordinator team, oversee daily orders, and monitor supplier performance.
• Develop and maintain procurement and planning standard operating procedures ensuring uniformity across categories and stores.
• Promote improvements in forecasting and ordering efficiency through Odoo and other planning systems.
• Prepare and deliver reports on forecast precision, service levels, and inventory health for senior management.
• Serve as the escalation point for significant supply challenges and coordinate risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, and Finance to align supply and category development plans.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 5 to 8 years of professional experience in procurement, demand planning, or supply chain roles, including a minimum of two years in a leadership or senior role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Statistics, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications such as CPIM or CSCP are beneficial.
• Background in FMCG, grocery retail, e-commerce, or Q-Commerce industries is highly desirable.
• Proven ability in leading supplier negotiations and enhancing forecast accuracy and service metrics.
• Experience supervising or coaching procurement and planning teams.
• Familiarity with ERP software, especially Odoo, and platforms for inventory and order management.
• Comfortable with BI and reporting tools like Power BI or Looker Studio.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills for forecasting and inventory modeling.
• Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets; prior exposure to demand planning software is a plus.
