Senior CloudOps Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior CloudOps Engineer to lead and manage infrastructure for large-scale distributed systems. This position demands deep expertise in AWS multi-account environments, advanced container orchestration skills, and strong automation capabilities using Python or Go. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of designing CI/CD pipelines, operating databases in production, and ensuring compliance with major security standards, while collaborating closely with engineering leadership to deliver business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and operate infrastructure for large-scale distributed production environments with at least 6 years of relevant DevOps, CloudOps, or SRE experience.
• Architect and maintain AWS infrastructure across multi-account setups involving Organizations, IAM, VPC, ECS, RDS, Secrets Manager, and cost-control solutions.
• Handle container orchestration platforms such as ECS (including EC2 capacity providers, service autoscaling, and task management) and/or Kubernetes in production settings.
• Ensure production-grade database operations including schema migrations, performance tuning, connection handling, and failover management on PostgreSQL or other relational/NoSQL databases.
• Develop and sustain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support multiple teams and environments.
• Implement and optimize observability platforms covering metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting using tools like Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or OpenSearch, including cost reduction strategies at scale.
• Practice advanced Infrastructure as Code methodologies using Terraform or Pulumi: modular design, state handling, drift control, and deployment across multiple accounts.
• Develop automation and platform tools primarily with Python and/or Go, beyond simple scripting.
• Troubleshoot network components such as DNS, load balancers, security groups, and VPNs without reliance on runbooks.
• Operate infrastructure within compliance regulations like PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 by integrating controls into infrastructure design.
• Work with engineering leadership to align infrastructure decisions with business goals including availability, cost efficiency, and delivery speed.
