About the Role
Join Dell Technologies as a Senior Principal Software Security Engineer within our Software Engineering team in Cork, Ireland, and contribute to impactful projects that enhance security through innovative AI approaches. This leadership role involves shaping the AI-integrated software security strategy for our Services Software Portfolio, collaborating with various teams to embed security in the development lifecycle and foster resilient, user-safe products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategy for AI-driven software security focused on adoption targets, risk reduction, and reporting to executives within the Services Software Portfolio.
- Promote AI-assisted development and automated remediation across engineering teams and Security Champion groups.
- Integrate AI-powered security controls throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure automated, consistent, and efficient security practices.
- Lead AI-enhanced threat modeling and risk assessments using data insights to identify risks, predict potential attack vectors, and prioritize remediation efforts.
- Create and support communities of practice for AI-based security engineering, mentoring security advocates on responsible AI application.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- Over 10 years of professional experience in software security engineering, cybersecurity architecture, product security, or DevSecOps leadership involving enterprise-scale SDLC governance and measurable security adoption.
- In-depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Security Development Lifecycle (SDL), application security, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and open source security.
- Strong skills in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ along with practical experience with AI and machine learning frameworks and AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience in communicating effectively with executives and managing stakeholders across geographically dispersed engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced security certifications like CISSP or CSSLP.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and AI-enhanced security tools such as Snyk and Veracode.
