Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the product vision and roadmap focusing on Statista's core platform functionalities, ensuring alignment of technical initiatives with overall corporate product and business objectives.
- Convert sophisticated platform-related challenges into clear, prioritized requirements and collaborate with engineering teams to implement impactful solutions in areas such as data infrastructure, APIs, and internal tools.
- Explore and integrate AI and automation technologies to enhance platform development speed, improve developers’ experience, and enable new functionalities for product teams.
- Serve as the liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating consensus on platform priorities, trade-offs, and project timelines.
- Assess and guide integration strategies for emerging technologies including AI/ML services, MCP protocols, and modern data pipeline infrastructures.
- Regularly monitor platform performance, scalability, and reliability, promoting enhancements based on data-driven insights and close cooperation with engineering leadership.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the tech industry with deep knowledge of product and engineering processes, team dynamics, and contemporary software development methodologies.
- At least 2 years of recent, direct experience in highly technical product areas such as platform engineering, data infrastructure, artificial intelligence/machine learning, or API development.
- Proven expertise in platform or technical product management; experience with data platforms or data engineering is highly desirable.
- Active use of AI tools in daily work with a commitment to expanding and refining AI capabilities to boost productivity.
- Exceptional communication skills capable of bridging detailed technical concepts with strategic business discussions.
- Strong analytical abilities and a structured approach to prioritizing, solving problems, and aligning with stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and dealing with ambiguous situations, legacy systems, and evolving technologies.
