With a 25-year mission, D2L continues to elevate global human potential by delivering a flexible, intelligent, and robust platform that redefines learning worldwide.

Role Overview

The Senior Product Manager will assume ownership for the success of assigned product features from conception, through development, to market introduction and eventual retirement. This individual must possess a strong foundation in software product management and demonstrate cross-functional leadership, strategic insight, continuous learning, and the ability to consistently launch high-quality software solutions aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate empathy and curiosity to build products that deeply resonate with customers by engaging internal teams and external users in discovery and empathy sessions.
  • Create and maintain the product and feature roadmap for Creator products, balancing business value, customer desirability, feasibility, and usability in partnership with engineering and design teams.
  • Gather inputs for roadmap development by collaborating with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer engagement to address critical customer needs.
  • Translate organizational strategy and market demands into a clear product roadmap in collaboration with leadership and strategy teams.
  • Convert product vision and roadmap items into detailed product requirements, defining functionalities, workflows, constraints, and success measures.
  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle within agile environments from use case development to market launch, post-release support, and product phase-out.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, functional teams, and senior executives to ensure alignment with unit objectives.
  • Champion product innovation, advocate for product direction, and drive development of industry-leading creation products or services.
  • Ensure release candidates meet established product requirements.
  • Work closely with customers, market strategy, architecture, design, engineering, PMO, implementation, support, and marketing teams throughout the product lifecycle to meet business and market objectives.
  • Maintain a data-driven product backlog informed by continual market and stakeholder feedback including customers, sales, service, and competitive intelligence.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses such as ROI assessments, business case development, and build/buy/partner evaluations.
  • Represent D2L as a thought leader at relevant industry events.

Required Competencies

  • Track record of driving measurable, data-informed business outcomes.
  • Effective communicator across diverse teams within the organization.
  • Strong collaboration skills with development and design teams focusing on feature prioritization and defect management.

Skillset

  • Ability to develop strategic vision and plan roadmaps for large-scale initiatives and cross-cutting experiences.
  • Experience planning, prioritizing, and managing incremental product deliveries.
  • Expertise in Go-To-Market planning.
  • Familiarity and acumen with Artificial Intelligence tools.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideal candidates are highly motivated, results-oriented strategic thinkers with robust business and technical capabilities. Candidates must demonstrate proven experience in product management disciplines such as product planning, market research, competitive analysis, product positioning, enablement, evangelism, and marketing. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in software product management is typically expected.

Work Arrangement

Though candidates across Canada may apply, preference is given to those willing to work primarily in a hybrid model, with about three days weekly onsite at a physical office location in Toronto, Ontario.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from CAD 110,000 to CAD 150,000, calibrated against candidate qualifications and experience to maintain internal and external competitiveness. Additional compensation components may include wellness subsidies, equity grants, variable incentives, and more.
