Senior Performance Test Engineer

About the Role

Our subsidiary, Adree, is searching for an experienced Senior Performance Test Engineer to spearhead performance testing efforts across various enterprise applications. The position demands expertise in performance engineering, workload modeling, and test automation to ensure scalable and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and uphold the performance testing strategy, including roadmaps, standards, templates, entry and exit criteria, and performance quality gates.
• Assess business volumes, user patterns, system architecture, service-level objectives, and non-functional requirements to devise accurate workload models.
• Plan and perform diverse tests such as load, stress, endurance, scalability, capacity, spike, and volume tests for web, mobile back-ends, APIs, integrations, and digital services.
• Create, maintain, and review performance test scripts, scenarios, parameterizations, correlations, data setups, and reusable test components.
• Establish requirements for testing environments, monitoring tools, data access, and service virtualization, and collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure preparedness.
• Analyze monitoring data from clients, servers, databases, networks, containers, and applications to diagnose bottlenecks and determine root causes.
• Assess performance metrics including response times, throughput, concurrency, error rates, resource consumption, capacity, and SLA adherence, providing clear technical recommendations.
• Integrate performance testing into continuous delivery pipelines with defined thresholds and develop consistent baseline and trend reporting.
• Lead defect triage meetings and performance tuning discussions with developers, architects, database administrators, SREs, infrastructure, network, and security teams.
• Generate comprehensive test plans, periodic status updates, executive summaries, detailed reports, risk assessments, and release recommendations.
• Estimate workloads, assign tasks, review output, mentor peers, and maintain traceability alongside audit-ready documentation.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and practical training on performance testing methodologies and the organization's operating model.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years in software testing, with at least 4 years dedicated to hands-on performance testing and engineering, coupled with prior leadership or technical management experience.
• Proficient in performance testing scripting, scenario design, correlation, parameterization, execution control, as well as result analysis and diagnostics.
• Deep understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST/SOAP APIs, web services, authentication mechanisms, distributed systems, databases, networking, and typical performance bottlenecks.
• Experienced in deriving workload models from real production or forecasted data and establishing quantifiable non-functional acceptance criteria.
• Experience with integrating performance testing into continuous delivery pipelines and version control systems.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Professional proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of enterprise test management, service virtualization, container platform monitoring, observability, and managing enterprise API gateways.
• Experience with mobile backend performance, cloud and container platforms, resilience and failure testing, and capacity planning for performance.
• Relevant certifications in performance testing, software testing, Agile methodologies, or DevOps practices.
• Background working in government, regulated environments, or large-scale digital service platforms.
