Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This onsite role requires a professional with over six years of experience to engineer and uphold cutting-edge CI/CD pipelines, container ecosystems, and automated software delivery platforms. The position emphasizes automation, robust deployment strategies, container orchestration, and embedding security into the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain CI/CD workflows using GitLab CI/CD.
• Oversee Kubernetes clusters and manage containerized infrastructures.
• Deploy applications through Docker and Helm technologies.
• Create reusable Helm charts and Kubernetes deployment manifests.
• Automate infrastructure deployment and setup with Terraform and Ansible.
• Configure Kubernetes networking, implement security measures, control access, and manage resources.
• Automate build, test, and release lifecycle processes.
• Develop automation scripts utilizing Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Incorporate DevSecOps methodologies including security scanning and vulnerability assessments within pipelines.
• Set up and manage monitoring, logging, alerts, and observability via Prometheus, Grafana, and others.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to application deployment, infrastructure, networking, and Kubernetes.
• Enhance system reliability, deployment consistency, scaling, and overall performance.
• Collaborate with development teams, infrastructure engineers, security experts, and architects.
• Establish and uphold DevOps best practices, documentation standards, and automation frameworks.
• Support incident handling, root cause investigations, and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or closely related discipline.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 6 years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or similar.
• Proficient Linux system administration.
• Expertise in GitLab CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
• Strong command of Kubernetes cluster management.
• Advanced knowledge of Docker containers and Helm packaging.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible for IAC and configuration management.
• Thorough understanding of Kubernetes networking and security frameworks.
• Fluent scripting in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• Experience applying DevSecOps with embedded security scanning in CI/CD.
• Proficient with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Strong problem-solving skills including troubleshooting and incident response.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with cloud providers such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Experience integrating security and vulnerability scanning within CI/CD workflows.
• Understanding of service mesh technologies like Istio or Cilium.
• Experience with GitOps solutions including Argo CD or Flux.
• Knowledge of container registries and artifact repositories.
• Relevant certifications in Kubernetes, cloud, or DevOps.
