Job Overview

We seek an expert Jira Administrator who possesses practical experience managing Jira and Confluence platforms. The successful candidate will be charged with configuring, supporting, and maintaining these tools to fulfill business and technical needs effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee administration and upkeep of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence environments.
  • Customize Jira projects including workflows, screens, custom fields, issue types, permission schemes, and notification systems.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, roles, permissions, and access rights.
  • Develop and update Jira workflows reflecting business processes.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, filters, reports, and Agile boards tailored to company needs.
  • Administer Confluence spaces, including managing pages, templates, permissions, and content curation.
  • Support and integrate Jira and Confluence with other enterprise applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to Jira and Confluence while assisting user queries.
  • Configure Jira Service Management features like request types, queues, SLA definitions, workflows, and service portals.
  • Conduct upgrades, migrations, configuration adjustments, and regular maintenance for Jira and Confluence.
  • Monitor system performance to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
  • Document technical setups and configurations meticulously.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA, DevOps, IT, and business stakeholders to implement effective solutions.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Between 3 and 8 years of direct involvement with Jira Administration tasks.
  • Strong practical skills in Jira Software and Confluence management.
  • In-depth understanding of Jira custom workflows, schemes, screen configurations, custom fields, permissions, and notifications.
  • Experience using Jira automation and workflow configuration features.
  • Proficient in creating dashboards, generating reports, managing filters, and overseeing Agile boards.
  • Expertise in administering Confluence platforms.
  • Good comprehension of integration capabilities between Jira and Confluence.
  • Capabilities in managing users, roles, groups, and access permissions effectively.
  • Strong analytical aptitude for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Effective communication and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Jira Service Management functionalities.
  • Familiarity with Jira REST APIs and related integrations.
  • Knowledge of Jira marketplace plugins and their administration.
  • Hands-on experience performing migrations and system upgrades.
  • Understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Possession of Atlassian certification is a plus.

Educational Background

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant discipline is preferred.
