This position requires office presence in Munich or Berlin on a hybrid basis.

Role Overview

As a Payroll Solution Consultant within our Go to Market division, you will report to the Manager of Payroll Solutions Engineering. Collaborating closely with the German sales team, your core mission will be to support sales efforts, attract and engage customers to adopt our payroll solutions, and work on challenging projects to boost business expansion. You will act as a liaison between Sales, Payroll Product & Engineering, and Customer Success teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the entire presales process related to Payroll, being the main contact for the German sales team on payroll opportunities.
• Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to understand client needs and demonstrate tailored product solutions addressing those requirements.
• Partner with Account Executives to validate technical specifications, assess product fit, and scope the design of solutions ensuring deliverability.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on German payroll systems and compliance regulations.
• Contribute significantly to the development of Personio's presence in the German payroll market, collaborating with Go-to-Market teams and channeling structured product feedback to steer the payroll roadmap.
• Utilize AI tools proactively to enhance efficiency in preparation, demos, RFP responses, and identifying patterns across deals, while influencing the evolution of the Solutions Engineering function.
• Travel across Germany as required, approximately 10–20% of the time.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over five years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Presales, Sales Consulting, or related roles engaging directly with customers, ideally involving HR or payroll software.
• In-depth knowledge of German payroll, HR, and finance solutions, with eagerness to deepen expertise in payroll matters.
• Strong proficiency in conducting discovery sessions and delivering impactful, customized product demonstrations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable discussing SaaS frameworks, API integrations, and IT infrastructure to instill customer confidence.
• Excellent communication skills including storytelling ability, adaptability to varied audiences, and confident presentations to executives.
• Data-driven and analytical mindset to effectively prioritize efforts aligned with business and customer needs.
• High autonomy, resilience, enthusiastic mindset with a proactive and results-oriented approach suited to fast-evolving markets.
• Proven capacity to work cross-functionally, building credibility across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, skilled at negotiation and priority setting without escalation.
• Fluency in German at C2 level and English at C1 level, both written and spoken.

Work Conditions and Benefits

This hybrid role requires presence in the office three days per week with the flexibility to work remotely on other days.
