Job description
Position Summary
Linnk Group is seeking a Senior Oracle Solaris Engineer based in Doha, Qatar with over 5 years of experience in Oracle Solaris system administration, SPARC infrastructure management, virtualization technologies, and maintaining high availability in enterprise environments. This role primarily supports telecom and banking sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage Oracle Solaris versions 10, 11.3, and 11.4 including SRU patching and lifecycle management.
- Oversee SPARC T-series and M-series server administration, including Logical Domains (LDoms), Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM), and firmware updates.
- Configure and maintain Solaris Zones, Kernel Zones, ZFS file system, Service Management Facility (SMF), and Image Packaging System (IPS).
- Provide support for Oracle Solaris Cluster and Veritas InfoScale high-availability platforms.
- Administer Oracle Database workloads and ensure stable production environments.
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, patching, and other operational support activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in Oracle Solaris system administration.
- Expertise in SPARC hardware and LDoms virtualization technologies.
- Practical knowledge of Solaris Zones (including Kernel Zones), ZFS filesystem, SMF, and IPS.
- Experience working with Oracle Solaris Cluster or Veritas InfoScale environments.
- Certification in Oracle Solaris OCA/OCP is mandatory.
- Additional certifications like RHCSA, RHCE, or Oracle Linux certification are required.
- Prior experience in telecom or banking back-office operations in the GCC region is preferred.
