Senior ML Research Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced senior machine learning (ML) research developer to become part of our team focused on pioneering AI safety initiatives. This position involves collaboration with ML research scientists to address challenging training and inference problems involving very large models.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work alongside researchers to expedite model training, inference, and the deployment of innovative models and simulated environments.
• Design and develop workflows to support research experiments, from simple scenarios to large-scale projects.
• Create and enhance tools and libraries aimed at optimizing computing resource utilization.
• Implement, document, and uphold best practices for ML model development processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a degree in computer science or a related field such as computer engineering or software engineering, complemented by an advanced degree (MSc or higher) in machine learning or equivalent professional experience.
• Have over five years of industrial experience developing and executing complex ML workflows on high-performance computing platforms using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration skills, proficiency in documenting best practices, and commitment to staying current with emerging trends in ML and software engineering.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of data infrastructure components like vector databases.
• A history of successful contributions to significant deep learning research projects.
