Senior Mining Consultant - Surface Mining

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mining Consultant specializing in surface metals mining to join our APAC consulting team based in Brisbane or Adelaide. You will provide expert guidance and support to clients using advanced mine planning software and services, helping optimize their open pit operations and drive value across Eastern Australia and the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive consulting across mine design, production planning, scheduling, optimization, and mine closure planning for surface metals clients.
• Support the implementation of Deswik's industry-leading mine planning software solutions, offering technical expertise and training during pre-sales, implementation, and post-sales phases.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, identifying their needs and crafting effective, tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, geologists, and software developers to refine and enhance product offerings.
• Contribute feedback on software improvements and participate in scoping and testing new features.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
• Between 5 and 10+ years’ experience in surface metals mining, specifically in mine planning or consulting roles.
• Proficient in mine planning software, with experience using Deswik software viewed as a significant advantage.
• Demonstrated expertise in mine design and planning across different time horizons.
• Proven record of delivering high-value projects.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage customer relationships effectively.
• A strong passion for innovation and continuous learning.
• Willingness to travel domestically and potentially internationally to mining sites.
