Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mine Planner specializing in base metal operations, based full-time on-site in Nagpur. The selected candidate will craft and regularly update mine plans spanning short to long term, ensuring these align with production goals, safety, and compliance standards. Key responsibilities include analyzing geological and geotechnical information, creating pit designs and scheduling, optimizing equipment allocation, and collaborating closely with operational, geological, and maintenance teams. The planner will produce technical reports, documentation, presentations, monitor operational adherence to plans, and suggest improvements for cost-efficiency and resource utilization aligned with company growth targets.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 10 years of robust experience in mine planning and designing, including pit optimization, sequencing, and production scheduling within base metal mining environments.
- Expertise in mine planning and modeling software such as Surpac, Datamine, MineSched, or equivalent tools, alongside proficiency in CAD software.
- Comprehensive understanding of geology, geotechnical concepts, and mineral resource and reserve estimation specifically for open-pit or underground base metal mines.
- Experienced in operational planning, equipment selection, and capacity modeling to meet safety and efficiency targets.
- Acquainted with Indian mining safety regulations, environmental compliance, and statutory obligations.
- Strong analytical mindset with keen numerical skills and problem-solving capability, ensuring data-driven decision-making and precision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration across diverse teams and clearly convey technical details.
- A bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field is mandatory; additional advanced qualifications or certifications in mine planning are advantageous.
- Proven senior-level experience in base metal mining planning with a record of dependable mine plan delivery.
- Willingness to be based on-site in Nagpur and actively engage with field and plant operations.
