Your role will combine leadership, relationship building, and delivering technical solutions within our Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence that supports clients nationwide.

Key Role Overview

As a Senior Microsoft 365 Specialist, you will serve as the main technical escalation contact in the Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence. Your responsibilities include ensuring an outstanding experience for users of our Modern Workplace services and promoting adoption and ongoing enhancements of the Microsoft 365 platform. Your work will address productivity goals and enablement across data management, communication, collaboration, security, identity, and access management.

Technical Scope

  • Manage Microsoft identity systems including AzureAD, AD Connect, ADFS, and Microsoft Identity Manager.
  • Maintain and optimize business collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Planner, Groups, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Yammer.
  • Support collaboration and video conferencing platforms, including Microsoft Teams and related hardware/software from vendors like Poly, Cisco, and Zoom.
  • Evaluate alternative solutions competing in similar IT collaboration spaces.
  • Manage email security and archiving technologies like Office 365 ATP/EOP, Mimecast, and Avepoint.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must hold Australian citizenship to meet eligibility for NV1 security clearance.

Ideal candidates will have a thorough background in ICT Professional Services with demonstrated, hands-on expertise as a Microsoft 365 Engineer. Expected knowledge and skills include:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Office 365 core collaboration services: Exchange Online Mailbox management and protection, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Extensive AzureAD identity management knowledge, managing users, security groups, distribution groups, Office 365 groups, devices, and guest (external) users.
  • Working proficiency with AzureAD identity and authentication mechanisms such as Azure AD Connect, Password Hash Sync, Pass-Thru Authentication, Seamless Single Sign-On, ADFS, Azure Multi-Factor Authentication, and Self-Service Password Reset.
