Senior Mechanic - Base Heavy Maintenance

Job Overview

At the Base Maintenance division, our skilled engineering team provides exceptional services for aircraft inspections and repairs, overseeing comprehensive checks from routine inspections to major system overhauls. Our scope covers cabin retrofits, aircraft deliveries, and detailed inspection programs specifically for Airbus A380, A350, and Boeing 777 models.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently perform routine servicing tasks on Emirates and third-party aircraft, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and company protocols.
• Execute component replacements under the supervision and guidance of licensed engineers and aircraft technicians.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of ground service equipment to identify faults and accurately document issues for prompt resolution.
• Engage with flight crews regarding refueling procedures and routine servicing, including overseeing refueling operations without supervision and completing related technical logs.
• Conduct transit, daily, weekly, and service inspections on Emirates aircraft as scheduled.
• Ensure the upkeep and proper maintenance of tools, equipment, and relevant systems such as Ultramain in the working environment.
• Promote safety by preserving a clean, hazard-free workspace, consistently monitoring for risks and taking corrective action to prevent accidents.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a Vocational, National, or Higher National Diploma (equivalent to 12+2) or apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics, or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent specialized training from a reputable airline or maintenance organization.
• Hands-on experience with aircraft maintenance in an engineering setting.
• Fundamental understanding and practical experience with airframe structures, powerplant systems, and technical equipment; completion of Human Factors, GCAA air legislation, and fuel tank awareness training is mandatory.
• Ability to work independently and effectively without supervision.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
• Eligibility to obtain and hold a valid Airport Driving Permit.
