Role Summary
The Senior Mechanic position involves assisting Aircraft Technicians and Licensed Aircraft Engineers with the maintenance of Emirates and third-party aircraft, ensuring compliance with GCAA regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform basic servicing tasks on Emirates and third-party aircraft independently, adhering strictly to manufacturer protocols and company procedures.
- Conduct component replacements under supervision from licensed engineers and guidance from Aircraft Technicians.
- Possess thorough knowledge of ground support equipment servicing to detect and document maintenance needs promptly for corrective actions.
- Coordinate with flight crews regarding aircraft refueling and routine servicing operations; independently refuel aircraft and complete related technical logs.
- Execute transit, daily, weekly, and service inspections on Emirates aircraft.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and systems, including ultra main systems, are properly maintained within the workplace.
- Maintain a safe working environment by continuously observing safety protocols, monitoring work areas, and ensuring cleanliness and order to prevent accidents.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum one year experience in Engineering or Mechanical roles.
- Possession of a Vocational, National, Higher National Diploma (12+2 or equivalent), or Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics, or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent experience with a reputable airline or approved maintenance organization.
- Hands-on experience performing aircraft maintenance within an engineering setting.
- Basic knowledge both theoretical and practical of airframe, power plant, and technical equipment.
- Completion of Human Factors, GCAA Air Leg, and Fuel Tank Awareness training.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
- Possession of a valid Airport Driving Permit is mandatory.
Safety and Working Conditions
- Exposure to high-risk environments including working at heights and confined spaces.
- Handling hazardous energy systems and dangerous goods.
- Heavy lifting and working amidst loud noise and heat.
- Interaction with motorized mobile equipment and vibrating machinery.
- Contact with contamination materials involving humans, animals, and chemicals.
- Exposure to sharp fixed objects and moving or falling objects.
- Required to hold an Airport Driving Permit and ability to operate required equipment.
