Role Overview

The Senior Manager will oversee the Treasury Control workflow, ensuring the accuracy of real-time trading positions, profit and loss (P&L), and limit reporting to support risk management and profitability. Responsibilities include timely production of management reports with thorough analysis and justification, ensuring precise transaction flow to production systems, and generating accurate reporting. The role involves leading and developing a team while fostering a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational support for Treasury management relating to assets and liabilities.
  • Supervise a team of 5 to 6 employees managing approximately 40,000 to 45,000 annual transactions.
  • Control all functions of the Treasury Control Unit and act as a backup for Treasury Operations Middle Office.
  • Implement performance indicators and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence of capital market and investment positions to QNB’s investment strategies and Qatar Central Bank (QCB) limits.
  • Support both internal and external audit processes and maintain strong relationships with related business units.
  • Assist internal stakeholders and customers with treasury-related inquiries while upholding agreed service levels.
  • Monitor treasury limits, instructions, and Islamic treasury transactions.
  • Reconcile trading positions and P&L balances with Front Office, and investigate discrepancies with banks and financial institutions.
  • Authorise exceptions in investments and capital markets with proper approvals.
  • Oversee monitoring of trading balances, international shares, customer holdings, and investment portfolios.
  • Provide support to international branches and subsidiaries, maintain OPICS system setups, and ensure compliance with repo agreements and EMIR and MRUD regulations.
  • Maintain expert knowledge in capital markets, investment products, accounting, liquidity management, and treasury systems.

Eligibility and Educational Qualifications

  • Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related area.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience, particularly in international banking, treasury operations, investment control, or related domains.
