Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Web (Ads Customer Interface)

About the Role

Join Roku as a Senior Manager on the Ads Engineering Customer Interface (ACI) team, focusing on leading development and operations of robust customer-facing web solutions including Campaign Management, Demand Side Platform, Data Management Platform, and related reporting and forecasting tools. This role entails building and managing a high-performing team working with modern web technologies like React, Node.js, alongside agentic AI innovations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, nurture and expand a skilled engineering team to successfully implement ambitious product and technology roadmaps.
• Recruit talented software engineers and foster a high-performing team aligned with Roku's business goals.
• Define clear, measurable, and achievable objectives for teams and individual contributors.
• Partner with various stakeholders to outline goals, requirements, and scope for business initiatives.
• Provide expert technical direction ensuring timely resolutions to project challenges.
• Guarantee the delivery of high-quality software employing thorough validation and verification cycles.
• Manage hiring, onboarding, continuous training, and team growth efforts.
• Maintain transparent communication on project status, risks, and results with senior leadership.
• Promote continuous learning culture, particularly leveraging AI tools and technologies within software engineering.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in managing engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, and professional development.
• Over 16 years of hands-on software engineering with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing technology teams.
• Strong expertise in software development lifecycle management, including design, architecture, testing, and deployment.
• Proven ability to make strategic technical tradeoffs aligned with evolving business needs and product roadmaps.
• Track record of embedding essential software engineering practices such as code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated success collaborating closely with product managers, UX designers, and senior executives to ensure technical solutions meet business objectives.
