Role Overview
The Senior Manager for Global Compensation Programs is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing Shift4’s international compensation frameworks. This individual ensures pay programs align with company philosophy, strategic growth plans, and promote talent attraction and retention. Collaboration with HR, Finance, and business units to develop equitable, scalable pay and incentive structures is essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and refine global compensation programs, including base pay, incentives, and equity plans.
- Oversee annual compensation cycles for merit, bonuses, and equity, partnering with HR Operations and Finance for accuracy and budget compliance.
- Establish and maintain global salary structures and pay bands across roles, regions, and functions to maintain internal fairness and market competitiveness.
- Lead market benchmarking utilizing surveys such as Radford, Mercer, and Aon to maintain targeted market positioning.
- Manage compensation governance, including policy adherence, pay transparency, pay equity assessments, and regional labor law compliance.
- Work with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to guide decisions on offers, promotions, and retention strategies.
- Lead projects related to job architecture alignment, compensation system implementations (e.g., Workday Advanced Compensation), and integration of acquisitions.
- Create and deliver compensation education, communications, and decision-making tools for leadership.
- Collaborate with Total Rewards and Finance to forecast compensation expenditures and analyze program cost impacts.
- Stay abreast of compensation trends and best practices, offering strategic counsel to senior HR and corporate leaders.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in compensation or total rewards, including managing global compensation programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of compensation strategy, market pricing, job evaluation, and incentive plans.
- Strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with compensation platforms like Radford, Mercer, or Workday Advanced Compensation preferred.
- Proven project management and organizational skills to handle multiple compensation programs concurrently.
- Effective collaboration and influence skills with HR, Finance, and business leaders across varied geographies.
- Understanding of global regulatory environments related to pay transparency, FLSA, and European Union pay directives.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with ability to transform data into actionable recommendations.
- Experience in fast-growing, global technology settings highly desirable.
