Job Overview
The Senior Manager in Financial Control is responsible for the accurate and timely production of financial reports for designated entities while managing key accounting procedures such as leases, employee benefits, and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations. This role ensures adherence to IFRS standards, maintains data accuracy, analyzes financial variances, and supports external audit processes to uphold rigorous financial reporting standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements within group-specified deadlines.
- Review and authorize journal entries related to intercompany dealings, leases, provisions, and general ledger transactions.
- Implement applicable IFRS standards and conduct impact analyses.
- Coordinate with auditors to guarantee compliance with disclosure and audit requirements.
- Assist the Financial Reporting Director in formulating internal reporting guidelines and technical accounting documentation.
- Oversee the accuracy and integrity of ERP system-generated financial data.
- Evaluate and verify quarterly consolidation data submitted by subsidiaries.
- Maintain and update master data concerning all property leases.
- Manage full-scale accounting and finance operations for assigned entities.
- Prepare required reporting packages in collaboration with the Group Reporting Director and Chief Financial Officer.
- Execute the progression of Quarterly Financial Statements documentation.
- Draft relevant notes for quarterly financial statements as directed by the Financial Reporting Director.
- Respond promptly to data requests from External Auditors.
- Analyze and clarify all discrepancies relating to ECL calculations for subsidiaries and reported figures.
- Contribute to the revision and development of Accounting Policies and Procedures.
- Develop technical memos on financial accounting topics pertinent to assigned entities.
- Perform additional responsibilities within the role's scope as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS and advanced technical accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to accuracy and detail.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines efficiently.
Experience and Education
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial reporting, external audit, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
Languages and Certifications
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Professional certifications such as SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, or ACA are required.
