About the Role
We are offering a Senior Manager position in our Assurance team at the Wellington (Pōneke) office. In this full-time role (37.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday), you will lead complex external audit engagements, develop client relationships, and mentor junior staff within a supportive, values-driven environment. Key Responsibilities
- Lead statutory audit engagements from planning to final review, ensuring delivery, quality, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Enhance public trust by conducting thorough audits that promote the financial transparency and integrity of clients.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholders by understanding their business needs and delivering practical insights.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
- Utilize advanced technology and PwC audit methodologies to deliver top-quality external audit work, setting industry benchmarks for quality and innovation.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 7 years of external audit experience within a professional services environment.
- Strong technical proficiency in auditing standards, financial reporting requirements, and audit methodologies.
- Good commercial judgment and confidence managing complex engagements and building key client relationships.
- Preferably experience in financial services, especially banking or asset management, though not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and teams, translating complex matters into clear insights.
- Proven leadership abilities to coach and develop teams, promoting inclusivity, quality, and collaboration.
- Strong project management skills to balance priorities, deadlines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
