About the Role
Join PwC New Zealand in Christchurch as part of our Internal Firm Services team, contributing to a professional and welcoming office environment. This role involves various responsibilities including client reception, managing meeting rooms and events, front of house assistance, and supporting the workplace coordination to ensure smooth daily operations for staff, clients, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients, visitors, contractors, and employees with exceptional customer service.
- Serve as the primary contact for office inquiries, telephone communications, and day-to-day workplace assistance.
- Manage meeting room bookings, prepare and reset rooms to maintain high presentation standards.
- Coordinate catering arrangements, front of house activities, and barista services for meetings and events.
- Collaborate with IT and Facilities teams to address any room, audiovisual, or maintenance concerns.
- Assist in event setup, takedown, and overall event coordination.
- Support daily workplace operations such as mail handling, courier management, and stationery supply.
- Help manage access procedures, workplace configuration changes, and overall facilities coordination.
- Maintain checklists, update process documents, and perform administrative duties accurately and professionally.
- Identify potential improvements in service delivery and enhance workplace experience.
- Maintain First Aider and Fire Warden certifications and contribute to health and safety procedures including emergency responses and evacuations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Formal education or training in hospitality, customer service, business administration, facilities, events, or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Additional certifications such as food safety, barista training, first aid, or health and safety would be beneficial.
- Experience in receptionist, hospitality, or customer-facing roles, preferably within corporate or professional services settings.
- Positive and committed attitude focused on delivering excellent client experiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including a professional and friendly telephone manner.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing consistently high-quality work.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and collaborate with diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Sound judgment, initiative, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Team-oriented approach fostering collaboration across service areas.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and openness to learning new systems and processes.
- Adaptable mindset with willingness to embrace change and new working methods.
- Proactive in personal development, continuous improvement, and on-the-job learning.
