Senior Machine Learning Engineer – Workforce Intelligence

About the Role

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at SIXT, you will transform innovative algorithms into real-world applications, shaping critical business processes such as capacity planning through advanced machine learning and optimization techniques. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining state-of-the-art models that affect millions of customers and support the company’s operational success. Key Responsibilities

• Develop production-ready data science solutions that are robust, scalable, and well-monitored.
• Ensure dependable and scalable deployment infrastructure for workforce management optimization and ML models adhering to MLOps best practices.
• Create and maintain machine learning models and optimization algorithms focusing on demand forecasting, shift scheduling, and staffing optimization.
• Work collaboratively across teams, especially with Workforce Management, to translate operational problems into data-driven strategies.
• Develop and extend tooling to automate the Data Science Tech Stack and continuously improve MLOps workflows including model deployment and data pipelines.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive experience building and operating machine learning models and optimization algorithms in production environments with expertise in Python and cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong background in data engineering including data modeling, database systems, and ETL processes.
• Knowledge in applying AI-assisted development tools judiciously to maintain reliability and reviewability within engineering workflows.
• Proficient in using monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues in ML models and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with workforce management concepts such as forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English for effective cross-team collaboration.
