About the Role
We are inviting applications for two full-time Senior Lecturer positions within the Pharmacy program at The University of Western Australia (UWA). These are tenurable appointments focused on teaching excellence, curriculum development, and education leadership across postgraduate pharmacy courses including the Doctor of Pharmacy.
Candidates will play a key role in shaping pharmacists of the future through innovative curriculum design, integration of professional practice, and commitment to educational quality and student success.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership in teaching, curriculum innovation, and academic excellence within the Doctor of Pharmacy and related postgraduate pharmacy programs.
- Engage in strategic initiatives related to curriculum development, experiential and placement-based learning, assessment processes, accreditation, and promoting student achievement.
- Design, review, and continuously enhance pharmacy education to align with current professional standards and modern pharmacy practice.
- Mentor peers and advocate for modern, inclusive, and culturally sensitive teaching methodologies, fostering continuous improvement at departmental, faculty, and university levels.
Requirements
- Possession of a PhD in a relevant field or an equivalent mix of professional pharmacy qualifications and academic experience.
- Current pharmacist registration with Ahpra is mandatory.
- Proven ability in curriculum development, teaching innovation, and achieving excellent student learning outcomes in higher education contexts.
- Experience in areas such as Work Integrated Learning, experiential learning placements, partnership building with external stakeholders, assessment design and moderation, quality assurance, accreditation, and continuous educational improvement.
- Track record of leadership in education, scholarship of teaching and learning, and mentoring academic staff.
- A demonstrated commitment to delivering inclusive and culturally safe education, with incorporation of Indigenous health perspectives and current pharmacy practices.
Additional Information
Candidates must comply with the National Higher Education Code requiring declarations regarding gender-based violence prevention and response. Successful applicants will need to obtain a National Police Clearance and a Western Australia Working with Children Check.
The base salary range for Level C positions is $149,909 to $172,441 annually, with an additional 17% superannuation benefit.
