Senior iOS Engineer - Mobile Professional

About the Role

Join our Mobile Professional team in Dublin, where we develop the essential Bloomberg mobile app that financial professionals rely on to stay informed and connected when away from their desks. This app offers up-to-date market news, detailed analysis, instant alerts on significant market events, and fosters connection within the Bloomberg community.

The mobile group encompasses engineers specialized in UI, client software, backend infrastructure, and services, collaborating to leverage cutting-edge mobile technologies and techniques. We aim to deliver an exceptional mobile experience tailored to financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate into a diverse and established engineering team alongside UX, QA, and Product experts.
• Develop high-quality native iOS applications using Swift reliably and efficiently.
• Engage with a broad technology stack linked to the iOS platform.
• Manage server-side infrastructure and tools implemented in Python and C++.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to align strategies and resolve shared challenges.
• Work closely with Product and UX to create user-friendly mobile experiences that handle complex workflows.
• Promote a culture focused on continuous delivery, testing, collaboration, and improvement.
• Own and resolve complex engineering problems related to scalability, reliability, and real-time systems.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience building native iOS apps primarily with Swift.
• Familiarity with modern iOS application architectures and UI frameworks.
• Sound knowledge of software engineering basics including concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
• Expertise in designing software that is modular, maintainable, and testable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A pragmatic approach to solving challenging technical problems thoughtfully.
• Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
