About the Role
We are seeking an expert Senior HVAC Design Engineer based in Hyderabad (Gachibowli) to join our team working in office. The ideal candidate will have advanced mechanical engineering skills with experience in pharmaceutical, ATF, and industrial projects, emphasizing data center expertise.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for HVAC systems in projects.
- Lead HVAC discipline activities as a project discipline lead.
- Provide oversight and troubleshooting for critical HVAC engineering challenges.
- Ensure designs and implementations comply with global standards including ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC, NFPA, ISPE, WHO, FDA, EU, and LEED guidelines.
- Perform design calculations including heat load, AHU zoning, classification, pressure zoning, airflow diagrams, piping and ducting layouts, and preparation of PIDs, BOQs, data sheets, and validation documents.
- Create precise HVAC layouts and 3D models coordinated with all services and utilities.
- Select equipment such as chillers, hot water generators, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, dehumidifiers, blowers, ducting, piping insulation, controls, and BMS.
- Handle procurement processes including enquiries, tenders, technical bid analysis, and material requisitions.
- Improve discipline capabilities through training, standard development, and tool enhancement while leading and mentoring engineers, designers, and modelers.
- Coordinate with external clients, hosts, vendors, and internal project disciplines throughout project phases.
- Manage model reviews with clients and hosts.
- Support department management in daily discipline operations like timesheets, appraisals, escalations, and recruitment.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.Tech or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 8 years experience with a strong preference for 10+ years in pharmaceutical, ATF, or industrial projects.
- Proven experience with data center environment is mandatory.
- Expert knowledge of international and local HVAC standards and guidelines as mentioned above.
- Familiarity with 3D and 2D design software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience interacting with domestic and international clients onsite and offsite.
