Role Overview
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer based in Dublin, you will engage in tackling intricate ground engineering problems related to significant infrastructure projects in Ireland and internationally. These include transportation, utilities, advanced facilities, and environmental initiatives. Your responsibilities will span the entire project lifecycle, from early feasibility studies and ground investigations to design, execution, and construction assistance. You will also influence important technical decisions, lead excellence in engineering, and mentor less experienced engineers within a team of over 400 experts in geotechnical and tunneling disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute geotechnical expertise on prominent projects.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams both locally and globally.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Engage directly with site investigation activities alongside contractors.
- Devise innovative and practical solutions for challenging soil and ground conditions.
Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Dedication to achieving Chartered status in the near future.
- Robust experience in geotechnical design and technical reporting.
- Proficiency in preparing ground investigation tender documentation, scopes, specifications, and Bills of Quantities.
- Hands-on experience working on-site with ground investigation contractors and related methods.
- Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software such as Slope/W and OpenGround.
- Competence in mapping and drafting tools including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Project Mapper.
- A solid grasp of relevant Codes of Practice, Design Standards, and Health & Safety regulations.
