Role Overview

We are assembling a focused, capable product discovery team dedicated to the Autonomous Networks product suite at Zinkworks. This team is responsible for transforming initial product concepts into sophisticated prototypes for telecom operators to explore and evaluate.

We seek a Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the comprehensive technical development of these prototypes, working hands-on across frontend, backend services, API design, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and third-party system integrations. This role requires creating full product experiences by converting early-stage ideas into reliable, engaging prototypes demonstrating solutions for autonomous network challenges.

Many products are agent-driven; the engineer will collaborate closely with AI Engineers to integrate seamless user experiences with backend and AI agent layers, ensuring safe and efficient interactions with users, workflows, and real-world systems.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments requiring innovative technical decisions without fully detailed specifications while maintaining engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end development of product discovery prototypes, including demonstrators and proofs of concept.
• Design and implement responsive, user-friendly UI for telecom operators to interact with autonomous network technologies.
• Create backend services, APIs, data schemas, and integration points for AI-powered applications and workflows.
• Develop server-side systems enabling agent-driven applications to interface with actual systems and data sources.
• Coordinate closely with AI teams to define and implement integration approaches between applications, services, and agent layers.
• Communicate AI-generated data into clear, actionable user interfaces.
• Plan APIs and service boundaries supporting both frontend interfaces and autonomous agent interactions.
• Implement both real-time and asynchronous application features such as job tracking, notifications, streaming responses, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Deploy and maintain prototype infrastructure utilizing Google Cloud Platform services.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, AI Engineering, and technical leads through the development lifecycle.
• Establish standard coding practices, reusable components, and engineering safeguards for full-stack development.
• Make pragmatic architecture and technology choices in a rapidly evolving product discovery context.
• Incorporate appropriate testing, observability, security, and deployment procedures without hindering exploratory development.
• Assist in transitioning successful prototypes to scalable, production-ready applications.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated expertise as a Full Stack or Software Engineer building production applications across frontend and backend.
• Hands-on backend development experience using Python to create APIs or data-centric services.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks like React or Next.js.
• Skilled in designing and implementing APIs, services, data models, and system integrations.
• Adept at crafting polished, adaptive, accessible user interfaces with solid frontend architectural knowledge.
• Sound grasp of cloud-native engineering, preferably with Google Cloud Platform or equivalent providers.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity in early product concepts and making independent technical decisions.
• Strong product orientation, eager to develop technology that end-users can explore and provide feedback on.
• Experience leveraging AI-assistance tools such as Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot during development.
• Excellent collaboration abilities with AI engineers, designers, and product managers.
• Approach engineering tasks balancing speed, usability, quality, security, and maintainability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background developing full-stack software for AI-driven products.
• Exposure to agentic AI systems, large language models, or modern agent frameworks.
• Experience in designing user experiences for conversational, autonomous, or generative AI systems.
• Familiarity with streaming responses, tool invocation workflows, approval processes, explainability, and human-in-the-loop interactions.
• Experience creating dashboards, operational tools, or complex data visualizations.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud services such as Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery.
• Experience with Google Application Development Kit (ADK) or related agent frameworks.
• Competence with event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and real-time updates.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, audit logging, and secure integrations.
• Background in telecommunications, OSS, network automation, or autonomous networking.
• Experience within product discovery, start-up environments, or innovation-driven projects.
• Track record moving prototypes from experimentation to scalable production applications.
