Senior Full Stack Engineer

Join NovaLexi as a Senior Full Stack Engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, contributing to a high-standard regulated enterprise and government platform. This role involves comprehensive design and development tasks across server, client, and AI-integrated functionalities, ensuring a secure, multi-tenant, and bilingual system.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect and develop backend services utilizing Rails 8 and PostgreSQL, including the platform's GraphQL API.
• Create the front-end experience with Next.js 16 and React 19, leveraging server components, Apollo Client for data management, and typed GraphQL generated from schemas.
• Model complex intellectual property lifecycles including patents, trademarks, renewal processes, deadline calculations, and multi-jurisdictional rules.
• Implement row-level multi-tenant data isolation and role-based access control (RBAC) from data resolvers to front-end rendering.
• Develop AI-powered features such as agentic services, document analysis, streaming chat, and summary functionalities with strict evaluation and guardrails ensuring output quality.
• Manage integration with external systems including patent office and registry APIs, SSO protocols (SAML, OIDC), billing systems, and document processing pipelines.
• Deliver bilingual user interfaces supporting both English and Arabic, including right-to-left layout integration using logical CSS and a shared design system.
• Maintain and improve performance, reliability, and security protocols aligned with National Cybersecurity Authority controls and Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code to accelerate delivery while enforcing safety through code reviews, automated tests, and security checks.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, provide code reviews, and mentor fellow engineers.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the direct manager.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience delivering production software, particularly for large-scale enterprises or government platforms handling significant data volumes and integrations.
• True full-stack expertise, having independently managed features from database design through API development to user interface implementation. Strong proficiency on one side and active involvement on the other.
• Advanced knowledge of server-side technologies, especially Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL database design, and background job processing tools like Solid Queue or Sidekiq.
• Experience with React and TypeScript in production, preferably using Next.js App Router with server components.
• Proven skills in designing, implementing, and consuming GraphQL schemas and resolvers, with graphql-ruby and Apollo Client preferred.
• Background in developing enterprise-grade multi-tenant SaaS platforms, managing availability, performance, regulatory compliance, and transparent client communication.
• Strong testing discipline across unit, request, and end-to-end testing, treating build failures as critical blockers.
• Fluency in AI-driven coding assistance tools such as Claude Code, with attention to maintaining correctness and security through guardrails.
• Comfort with fast-paced startup environments, exemplifying self-management, adaptability to shifting priorities, task completion, and meeting tight deadlines.
• Preferred qualifications include experience building LLM-backed features with quality controls, bilingual or RTL interface development, working within government or regulated sectors, familiarity with IP or legal technology domains, knowledge of Google Cloud and containerized deployment, and bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English.
