Typically, the business owner acts as the system, which limits scalability. Cami serves as an AI-powered operating system consolidating scheduling, payments, customer records, marketing, and reporting into a unified platform with an AI component that automates tasks usually performed manually by the owner.

This addresses a large, underserved market with complex technical challenges, creating software that manages real money transactions, bookings, and critical business functions without downtime.

Role Overview

We seek an experienced Senior Full Stack AI Engineer to independently manage product features end-to-end—from API design through deployment. The role involves development across Node.js backend services, React frontends, AWS infrastructure, and the integration of Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities into daily merchant workflows. The position is hands-on and collaborative with product, design, and engineering teams, with continuous delivery of features.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop type-safe, high-performance APIs and backend services using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Create responsive and reliable frontend interfaces with React and Next.js, ensuring robust client-server state management.
• Design, implement, and optimize LLM-driven functionalities such as prompting, semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic flow workflows.
• Build and strengthen fundamental booking, payment, and customer data pipelines across all supported channels.
• Maintain comprehensive test coverage including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Vitest and Playwright.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions to enforce quality control on builds, tests, and deployments.
• Deploy and manage services on AWS leveraging Terraform, ECS Fargate, ECR, and CloudFront.
• Develop features complying with tenant isolation and regional data residency policies.

Technology Stack

Utilized technologies include Node.js (NestJS, Fastify, TypeORM), TypeScript, React, Next.js, TanStack Query, TailwindCSS, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS SQS, various AWS services (ECS Fargate, ECR, CloudFront), Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Playwright, Vitest, Twilio, Auth0, and LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and Anthropic.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience designing and operating modern production web platforms.
• Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, preferably with NestJS or Fastify frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in React and Next.js using contemporary frontend development best practices.
• Practical, hands-on experience embedding LLM APIs into active product environments, beyond proof-of-concept stages.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL, including migrations, schema updates, and query optimization.
• Experience deploying containerized applications in AWS environments using Terraform.
• Familiarity with event-driven system architecture and asynchronous processing models.
• Effective communicator who thrives working within cross-disciplinary teams.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Background in scheduling, booking, POS, or payment systems.
• Experience with messaging or communication platforms.
• Knowledge of multi-region routing, tenant segmentation, and data-residency compliance.
• Track record mentoring junior and mid-level engineering staff.
