About the Role
Join Jensen Hughes as a Senior Fire Engineer in Auckland, New Zealand, where you'll lead impactful fire engineering projects focused on enhancing community and building safety. This is more than just a desk job; you’ll engage with clients directly, oversee projects from inception to completion, perform site visits, and mentor emerging engineers. Collaborate with top fire engineering professionals locally and internationally while contributing innovative solutions to complex fire safety challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical fire safety engineering initiatives throughout all project phases.
- Design and evaluate fire safety strategies compliant with the New Zealand Building Code and Standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, innovative fire safety solutions.
- Conduct site, construction, and final inspections to ensure project compliance and success.
- Draft and review technical reports and project documentation.
- Foster strong partnerships with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Represent Jensen Hughes in industry events and support brand growth within the New Zealand market.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to talent development.
- Utilize the global Jensen Hughes network to leverage expertise and improve client outcomes.
What We Seek
- New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, Civil, or related engineering fields; a Master's in Fire Engineering preferred.
- Proven experience in fire engineering and fire safety compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand Building Code and fire safety standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical matters to diverse audiences.
- Client management and networking expertise.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to challenge traditional methods to optimize solutions.
- Passion for mentoring and leadership within engineering teams.
- Ability to own multiple projects while working effectively within a team environment.
