Overview
Join Qatar Airways as a Senior Financial Analyst based in Doha, supporting business financial functions through analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance review, and management reporting. You will be pivotal in driving value to refine decision-making and enhance process efficiency.
Key Duties
- Develop and utilize comprehensive financial models and a variety of quantitative techniques for in-depth analysis.
- Monitor and report on actual revenue and costs; conduct root cause analysis on variances and prepare regular reports for management on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders and business units to identify and implement process improvements.
- Execute ad hoc revenue and cost investigations for senior finance management.
- Partner with business teams to identify and refine key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring consistent and timely reporting.
- Align financial accounting reporting with corporate and finance standards.
- Enhance the reporting process for route profitability, financial accounting, and management information.
- Assess and review annual budgets to ensure alignment with strategic management goals.
- Manage expenditure to meet cost of sales targets and propose cost control measures.
- Evaluate business proposals including cost management cases aimed at revenue increase or expense reduction.
- Review financial compliance of contracts and agreements.
- Aggregate and analyze financial outcomes of various departments monthly and yearly during budgeting.
- Perform additional finance department tasks as assigned by the department head.
About You
- High School Diploma, Vocational Diploma, or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 4 years of related work experience.
- Previous experience as a financial analyst, ideally within the airline sector.
- Strong communication and presentation skills enabling effective collaboration across organizational levels.
- Attention to detail paired with solid analytical abilities to interpret data, evaluate variances, and understand business financial cycles impacting profit and loss.
- Fluent proficiency in English is required.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines amidst interruptions.
- Self-motivated with the capability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Innovation-driven mindset with strong motivation and problem-solving aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with internal finance systems.
- Understanding of cost centre accounting along with budget and forecast preparation.
