Junior Sous Chef

Overview

Join Qatar Airways Catering Services as a Junior Sous Chef, where you will oversee the assigned section across all shifts, ensuring adequate manpower and smooth workflow. You will be responsible for guaranteeing meal production aligns with the planned schedule and adheres strictly to HACCP standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and verify food orders for Amiri and VVIP flights.
• Assist Sous Chefs during menu planning by ensuring all required items are prepared and collected.
• Support evaluation of manpower and equipment needs for upcoming cycle changes in collaboration with Sous Chefs.
• Collaborate with the Stores department to confirm availability of raw materials at least 72 hours before menu rollout.
• Ensure punctual delivery of all flight meal requirements within each shift without delays.
• Work alongside the Sous Chef to maintain consistent and efficient food production according to the production plan and handover procedures for the designated area.
• Supervise designated food preparation zones continuously to maintain standards and coordinate operations for Amiri and private flights.
• Report any unresolved issues promptly to higher management including Sous Chefs.
• Monitor that all dishes meet airline specifications regarding portion size, quality, and temperature.
• Enforce all health and safety regulations related to staff, equipment, machinery, and hygiene within the section.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a High School Diploma with at least 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of Food and Beverage operations.
• Fundamental understanding of Food Hygiene and HACCP principles.
• Proficient English language skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
• Awareness of emerging trends in fine dining service.
• Computer literate with ability to use relevant software tools.
• Demonstrated capability to supervise and train diverse teams effectively under high-pressure conditions.
• Strong planning and leadership skills.
