About the Role
Qatar Airways is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level II specializing in Borescope Inspection to conduct off-wing engine maintenance and rework within licensed authority limits. The position involves a variety of tasks including engine LRU build-up, module removal and installation, borescope inspections, engine preservation and storage, as well as receipt and dispatch inspections. Ensuring timely and efficient task completion with minimal turnaround time is critical to support Qatar Airways’ engine operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize your license to perform scheduled and unscheduled borescope inspections to ensure smooth engine operations.
- Notify Supervisors proactively about any potential service disruptions or issues that could impact flight schedules.
- Use specialized knowledge to maintain safe, efficient, and effective operations.
- Conduct engine and APU receipt and dispatch inspections, handle engine transportation, fan split and mate, LRU build-up, module removals and installations, and certifications to meet production deadlines.
- Use all available resources to maintain aircraft engine safety and quality standards in a productive and cost-effective manner.
- Adhere to Qatar Airways work procedures and standards, suggesting improvements to engine maintenance processes.
- Verify that maintenance tasks comply with company policies and are completed on schedule.
- Maintain component serviceability standards and implement technical solutions for engine problems.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks meet the company’s airworthiness standards and efficiency targets.
- Provide maintenance for diverse engine types and configurations following approved manuals.
- Maintain engines in a ready-for-installation state to meet planned engine change schedules.
- Ensure proper shift handovers and update handover databases according to TPM.
- Coordinate with database teams to keep technical data up to date in compliance with network policies.
- Maintain up-to-date engine release to service authorization credentials as per TPM and QCAA guidelines.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Hold minimum of two engine type or borescope inspection approvals.
- At least 5 years of aircraft certifying experience.
- Experience with borescope inspections and QEC/LRU build-up on engines such as V2500, Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent XWB, GE CF6-80E1, GE90, GENX, GP7000, PW4158, PW1000 with at least two Qatar Airways engine types.
- Ability to interpret and extract information from Technical Publications.
- Strong understanding of air legislation.
- Competency in selecting appropriate tools and equipment for tasks.
- Application of mathematics for problem solving.
- Management of equipment and system operations.
- Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat software.
- Good understanding of Airbus and Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and operational limitations.
