Job description

About Reap

Reap is an international fintech firm headquartered in Hong Kong, employing staff globally. We facilitate seamless financial connectivity and access for businesses by merging conventional finance with stablecoins to enable efficient transactions. With stablecoin-powered corporate cards, payments, and expense management solutions, we simplify financial workflows to support business growth. Our APIs integrate stablecoin finance into client products, encompassing Visa card issuance and cross-border payment facilitation. Supported by top investors such as Acorn Pacific, Index Ventures, and HashKey Capital, we are pioneering the future of borderless, stablecoin-enabled finance.

Role Overview

Reap's operations span various business lines including card issuing (CaaS), payments (Reap Pay), expense management (Reap Direct), and partner card programs (CPMaaS), across multiple jurisdictions, creating a notably complex reporting environment. This position is pivotal in overseeing the intricacies of group reporting and consolidation. Reporting to the Reporting Lead, you will manage the reporting team, ensure precise and timely group financials, and uphold audit-readiness. Success in this role requires expertise in structuring processes within complex settings and balancing technical accounting with team and process management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the group reporting and consolidation process alongside the Reporting Lead, ensuring timely and accurate period-end closes for all entities and business units; drive the overall consolidation timeline and uphold team accountability.
  • Lead and develop the business line reporting team, overseeing Finance Managers and Senior Financial Analysts; provide technical oversight, review outputs, and maintain consistent, high-quality financial methodologies.
  • Manage group consolidation workpapers including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translations, tiered sub-consolidations, and top-level group consolidation; verify completeness and reconciliation of elimination entries.
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end close calendars by setting deadlines, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and streamlining closing processes to shorten close duration.
  • Maintain consistency and accuracy across entities by establishing and enforcing group accounting policies, chart of accounts standards, and unified reporting templates; harmonize complex transactions like multi-currency, stablecoin accounting, and intercompany pricing across different jurisdictions.
  • Design and implement enhancements to reporting processes, identifying automation opportunities for consolidation steps and intercompany reconciliations; utilize existing data infrastructure to build scalable solutions.
  • Prepare and review consolidated management reporting packages including P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and segmental analyses; generate variance explanations providing leadership insight.
  • Support regulatory and statutory reporting for multiple jurisdictions through collaboration with local finance teams and external advisors to ensure adherence to local GAAP and IFRS and timely submissions.
  • Participate in special initiatives like investor reporting, entity setups, and ERP system improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CPA or equivalent certification with 7 to 10+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, including significant exposure to group consolidation and multi-entity contexts.
  • Robust technical accounting knowledge aligned with IFRS, confidently addressing complex transactions and formulating group policies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring finance teams; adept at delegation, critical review, and developing junior personnel.
  • Hands-on expertise in consolidation processes such as intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translations (IAS 21), and multi-tier consolidations.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and managing finance data across diverse platforms; SQL proficiency or strong motivation to learn is essential due to the data-driven nature of the finance team.
  • Strong project management abilities, capable of juggling concurrent initiatives across time zones and ensuring smooth close cycles.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, necessary for interaction with auditors, executives, and multinational teams.

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior experience in fintech, payments, digital assets, or dynamic technology enterprises.
  • Knowledge of multi-jurisdictional statutory reporting.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse technologies like Snowflake or Redshift and contemporary data-driven reporting processes.
  • Experience leading initial audits or transitions between audit firms, especially to Big 4.
  • Understanding of stablecoin or cryptocurrency accounting, inclusive of fair value assessments and digital asset classification.
  • Competence in financial process automation using tools such as Python, SQL pipelines, or Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

Employee Benefits

  • Opportunity to assume a leadership role at a crucial growth phase, developing the group reporting functionality as the company expands globally.
  • Work within a modern, technology-oriented finance team utilizing SQL, APIs, and automation centrally.
  • Engage in a significant impact role within a fast-growing fintech organisation.
  • Flexible hybrid working arrangement with a global and cooperative team environment.
  • Insurance coverage made available post probation period.
  • A stipend for Reap Card use.
  • Access to AI tools to encourage experimentation and professional growth.
  • An inclusive culture fostering innovation and continuous learning.
