Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Estimator to lead our estimating services as we grow in the Queensland market, focusing on multistorey residential and commercial projects. This role involves collaborating from design and costing through project delivery, ensuring precise and timely estimating results. Your commercial insight and adaptability will be pivotal in consistently meeting client expectations, compliance, authority standards, and health and safety obligations across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior team members, including Cadets and new employees, fostering professional growth.
• Dedicate four hours annually to volunteering activities through company partners or initiatives to contribute positively to culture and community.
• Prepare comprehensive budget estimates and cost plans starting from design concepts through to Building Approval stages.
• Develop fixed price costings and detailed contractual work descriptions.
• Conduct value management and feasibility assessments, emphasizing buildability, cost-effectiveness, and construction methods.
• Participate actively in design meetings, collaborating closely with project consultants and supporting Design Managers during estimating phases.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to secure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Provide construction teams with advice on programming and project durations by consulting suppliers and subcontractors.
• Assist Business Development Managers in client presentations and project submissions as needed.

Candidate Profile and Experience

• At least 8 years of experience as a Senior Estimator or equivalent role within the construction industry.
• Proficient in industry-standard estimating tools such as Buildsoft or CostX.
• Experience with pricing multistorey residential and commercial developments is a strong advantage, though not compulsory.
• Highly organized, with strong independent working capability and effective team collaboration skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
