PGG Wrightson Seeds operates as part of DLF, a global leader in the seed industry dedicated to enhancing land, life, and people through innovative seed science.
Role Overview
We seek a seasoned Senior ERP Developer to augment our internal Microsoft Dynamics expertise and lead the transition from legacy NAV systems to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This position entails designing, developing, and supporting ERP functionalities, APIs, and integrations critical to business operations. Collaboration with stakeholders across various regions, departments, and time zones is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and sustain Business Central and NAV extensions using AL and C/AL programming languages.
- Develop secure APIs, web services, and system integrations connecting ERP platforms and other systems through integration layers.
- Evaluate existing legacy customizations to determine appropriate retention, redesign, or retirement strategies.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to application, integration, data, and system performance at their foundational level.
- Adhere to best practices in coding, version control, testing, documentation, code review, and software release procedures.
- Effectively communicate technical alternatives, risks, and dependencies to both business and IT teams.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated extensive commercial experience developing with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Business Central.
- Expertise in AL and C/AL including developing extensions and implementing upgrade-resistant custom solutions.
- Proven track record designing and maintaining REST APIs, web services, and integration between ERP and other systems.
- Strong grasp on ERP processes combined with proficient knowledge of SQL Server and data troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent analytical abilities complemented by effective communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Desirable Skills
- Relevant academic credentials or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience managing NAV-to-Business Central upgrades, cloud or data migrations, testing phases, and cutover plans.
- Working knowledge of ERP modules including finance, sales, inventory control, warehousing, manufacturing, or supply chain logistics.
- Familiarity with Azure integration services, Azure DevOps, Git version control, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automated testing and deployment frameworks.
Work Environment
This global role occasionally requires participation in meetings outside of standard New Zealand business hours to collaborate with international colleagues. Flexibility will be supported to maintain a sustainable work-life balance.
