Senior Engineer - Payment & Wallet

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to become part of our Payments & Wallet team, which focuses on asset management, compliance, and on-chain services and integrations at Coinhako. In this role, you will architect, develop, and sustain high-performance backend services essential to our payments and wallet infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth system integrations, enhance transaction workflows, and improve platform reliability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and architect scalable backend systems using technologies such as Rails 7, Go, Sidekiq, REST, AWS, and Docker.
• Create and maintain high-throughput APIs used by frontend applications and external traders.
• Lead initiatives to uphold long-term code quality and guide architectural decisions for production systems.
• Oversee custody solutions related to digital assets ensuring top-tier security and regulatory compliance in managing cryptocurrencies, tokens, and digital records.
• Collaborate extensively with engineers, product managers, and designers throughout product development cycles.
• Enhance engineering best practices, tooling, and operational processes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Strong command of API design and best practices.
• At least 5 years experience building scalable distributed systems with a proficiency in Ruby; knowledge of Go is advantageous.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and effectively scope solutions collaboratively.
• Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing your own work independently.
• Familiarity with cryptographic and security concepts within blockchain environments, alongside understanding compliance and regulatory frameworks in cryptocurrency handling.
