Senior Engineer - Highways

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Engineer specializing in highways to lead diverse teams in Doha, Qatar. This role involves guiding projects from initial design through to construction completion, ensuring compliance with regional standards while optimizing efficiency and cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design complex highway infrastructure encompassing road alignment, drainage, and traffic control systems.
• Lead, support, and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams across all project stages.
• Carry out technical evaluations and feasibility assessments to confirm project suitability and anticipate challenges.
• Ensure adherence to Qatar-specific regulations, international standards, and safety requirements.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to meet deadlines and financial goals.
• Collaborate with contractors, government bodies, and stakeholders to facilitate project approval and smooth delivery.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections to validate construction against design specifications.
• Utilize advanced design software such as AutoCAD and BIM for project planning and documentation.
• Prepare thorough technical documents including reports, specifications, and construction drawings for regulatory submissions.
• Stay informed on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in highway engineering.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid MME professional engineering license in good standing.
• Demonstrated experience working on highway projects in Qatar.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Minimum of 12 years’ relevant engineering experience in highway design and infrastructure development.
• Proven leadership in managing senior-level highway projects from concept to construction.
• Strong mastery of highway design principles, traffic engineering, and pavement technologies.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Building Information Modeling software.
• Deep understanding of construction management, project scheduling, and cost control.
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems effectively.
• Excellent project management and team leadership proficiency.
• Knowledge of regional construction standards, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Preferable familiarity with traffic simulation software and sustainable design methods.
• Understanding of safety management and environmental compliance in construction contexts is an advantage.
