Overview
This opportunity based in Melbourne offers a hybrid working model requiring at least three days onsite weekly, with additional flexibility to work remotely. As a Senior Employee Relations Consultant, you will contribute to enriching employee experiences within a complex corporate setting.
Role Summary
You will serve as an expert in employee relations, combining your technical prowess and commercial awareness to advise and support leaders across various challenging employee scenarios, organizational transitions, and associated risks. Your expertise will enable effective and confident leadership in managing workforce matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle sensitive and multifaceted employee relation issues including performance, conduct concerns, grievances, disciplinary actions, workcover claims, and workplace investigations.
- Deliver specialized guidance in areas covering Fair Work legislation, Modern Awards, regulatory compliance, and internal company policies.
- Coach and empower leaders in managing difficult personnel challenges, enhancing their leadership capacity.
- Support and guide organizational change initiatives, restructurings, and consultative procedures aligned with legal mandates.
- Apply pragmatic and risk-aware judgment to achieve balanced outcomes serving both business and employee interests.
- Collaborate with legal teams and other stakeholders to address complex ER challenges and mitigate organizational risk.
- Conduct training and development programs to elevate leadership and HR team competencies in employee relations.
- Participate actively in policy formulation, process upgrades, and the advancement of best practices in employee relations.
Candidate Profile
- Proven extensive experience managing employee relations in large corporate environments.
- Proficiency in handling case management involving employee relations, investigations, and organizational change scenarios.
- Thorough knowledge of Australian employment laws, including the Fair Work Act and relevant Modern Awards.
- Experience managing WorkCover issues and facilitating return-to-work processes.
- Strong coaching and influencing abilities that develop leadership capabilities among managers.
- Commercially astute, balancing compliance, employee well-being, and business objectives.
- Experience in supporting and leading restructuring and consultation efforts during business transformations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent extensive experience in employee relations.
