Senior ELV Pre-Sales Engineer

Role Overview

This position involves evaluating request for quotations, tender documents, technical drawings, and client specifications to design and propose ELV security systems such as CCTV and Access Control Systems (ACS). The engineer is expected to develop detailed system architectures, device layouts, and integration concepts while ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze RFQs, tenders, blueprints, and specifications to understand client needs.
• Create CCTV and ACS designs, including riser diagrams, schematics, and details of system architecture and integrations.
• Calculate storage, bandwidth, camera coverage, door schedules, controller sizing, power requirements, and network planning.
• Compile comprehensive technical proposals, bill of quantities (BOQ), cost analysis, compliance declarations, supplier evaluations, clarifications, and options for value engineering.
• Ensure all designs adhere to MOI-SSD standards, client conditions, and project requirements.
• Review supplier quotations for technical and commercial accuracy.
• Identify and document scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and assumptions prior to submission.
• Provide technical support during sales presentations, client meetings, and discussions.
• Prepare technical submittals, method statements, system narratives, and respond to consultants' or clients' inquiries as needed.
• Assist in project handover by clarifying design rationale, scope, BOQ, assumptions, and exclusions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• At least 10 years' experience in ELV/security systems, ideally with exposure to projects in Qatar.
• Profound practical knowledge of CCTV, ACS, and integrated ELV/security systems including estimation skills.
• Thorough understanding of MOI-SSD requirements and governmental approval processes.
• Expertise with video management systems (VMS), NVR/server storage sizing, camera and ACS controller selection, structured cabling, and network infrastructure.
• Advanced Excel proficiency for preparing BOQ, cost sheets, supplier comparisons, formulas, and margin analysis.
• Ability to interpret tender, issued for construction (IFC) drawings, specifications, and consultant expectations.
• Competence with AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication skills for client interactions and technical clarifications.
• Hands-on experience with major CCTV/ACS brands such as Axis, Hikvision, Avigilon, Milestone, Genetec, Lenel, and Honeywell.

Preferred Certifications and Credentials

• Registered engineer with UPDA/MMUP.
• Familiarity with MOI DSA/DIA inspection protocols.
• Valid certifications in VMS platforms like Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon ACC, or HikCentral.
• ACS certifications from Lenel, Honeywell, Avigilon ACM, or equivalent providers.
• Structured cabling certification considered an advantage.
• Networking certification such as CCNA or equivalent is a plus.
• Knowledgeable in storage/server configurations involving Dell, HPE, RAID arrays, and VMS storage calculations.
