Job description
Position Overview and Candidate Requirements
This role requires candidates to hold a recognized third level qualification (Level 7 or above on the National Framework of Qualifications) in Business or a related area. Candidates should bring a minimum of five years' post-graduate experience in economic development, including experience within local government or similar sectors.
Key Competencies and Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise principles and economic development with a focus on local government's role in fostering these areas.
- Understanding of the local, national, and international economic landscape affecting businesses in County Kildare.
- Proven ability to develop partnerships and effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management expertise.
- Awareness of managerial responsibilities in occupational safety.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
- Leadership qualities with experience in team building and supervising personnel.
Additional Requirements
Non-Irish qualifications must be assessed for equivalency by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), accompanied by translation documents where applicable. Candidates must hold a valid Irish or EU Class B driving license, or a license acceptable for transfer to Irish license, possess competency in driving, and have access to a vehicle meeting local authority standards with appropriate insurance coverage. Successful candidates will enter at the base of the salary scale with potential for higher placement contingent upon public service experience verification.
