About the Role
Join WSP's National Ecology team as a Senior Ecologist based in Hamilton, where you will lead diverse ecological projects from initial field surveys to final reporting, including consenting, mitigation, and monitoring phases. You will offer well-founded ecological guidance tailored to sectors such as mining, energy, transport, and water infrastructure, while mentoring junior ecologists and nurturing team development. Collaboration with clients, iwi, regulatory bodies, and multidisciplinary teams will be essential, alongside contributing to the growth of WSP’s ecology services and client relationships.

Candidate Profile
- A tertiary qualification in an ecological or related discipline, preferably with more than five years of professional experience.
- Certified Environmental Practitioner status (CEnvP) or progress towards certification.
- Strong technical expertise, analytical capabilities, and project management experience.
- Proven aptitude for building effective relationships and working collaboratively at various organizational levels.
- Alignment with WSP’s principles: respect for people, teamwork, and openness to challenging existing norms.
