Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic, commercially adept Programme Director to spearhead the expansion and delivery of major Rail and Transit programs across Ireland. Reporting to the Transportation Ireland Sector Director and collaborating closely with leadership in Ireland and global Transportation Systems practices, the incumbent will be integral in executing the sector's three-year growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the sector's three-year growth plan covering the UK and Ireland markets, aligning with leadership strategies.
- Lead client engagement and bid management to secure projects valued at $5 million or more, including preliminary enabling efforts.
- Oversee the complete bid and work winning lifecycle for large-scale programs.
- Implement a hybrid Enterprise Capability and local delivery approach for bid submissions.
- Enhance market presence by strengthening relationships with infrastructure owners, operators, and contractors.
- Collaborate internationally to foster capability, knowledge, and resource sharing across Europe and India.
- Serve as the senior AECOM representative responsible for delivery of major programs exceeding $5 million.
- Maintain and cultivate strategic client partnerships to deliver ongoing satisfaction and repeat engagements.
- Lead initiatives to improve project outcomes based on client feedback and performance data.
- Coordinate effectively with contractors, partners, and supply chains to assemble high-performing delivery teams.
- Ensure project success across schedule, cost, quality, and governance metrics.
- Manage commercial performance including sales bookings, revenue growth, margins, cash flow, and Days Sales Outstanding.
- Optimize Enterprise Capability utilization and ensure accurate project data reporting.
- Deliver projects profitably, sustainably, and in line with business goals.
- Build and develop team capabilities and capacity to support sustained growth.
- Promote collaboration across sectors, business lines, and regions to unlock new opportunities.
- Support workforce planning and strategic resourcing initiatives.
- Champion health, safety, environment, and wellbeing (SHE) standards, acting as a visible leader and ensuring strong safety metrics.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership success in market positioning and securing large infrastructure opportunities.
- Extensive experience in profitable delivery of large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to collaborate with infrastructure owners, operators, contractors, and partners effectively.
- Strong commercial insight, with a track record of managing financial and project performance metrics.
- Experience working within global organizations with cross-sector and geographic collaboration.
- Exceptional leadership skills focused on team development and capability building.
- Strong commitment to safety leadership, wellbeing, sustainability, quality, and innovation.
