Position Overview
The Land Surveyor will operate under the supervision of the Assistant Resident Engineer to carry out precise surveying activities, ensuring all work meets project specifications and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct survey tasks based on guidance from the Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Set up key horizontal and vertical control points, including reference ties for field re-establishment.
- Oversee and direct survey party team members throughout field operations.
- Diligently record measurements, rod readings, and perform accurate calculations, maintaining neat documentation in field books.
- Collaborate with the Contractor’s surveyor to align on priorities and scheduling.
- Verify accuracy by completing traverse closures and bench circuit checks.
- Report any discrepancies or technical issues promptly to the Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Participate in joint measurements for completed work or payment assessments.
- Inspect finished work to confirm alignment with project plans in coordination with the assigned Inspector.
- Regularly verify the Contractor's setting out to ensure correct execution and precision.
- Maintain surveying equipment in optimal condition, performing frequent calibration checks.
