Based in Montreal, Behaviour Interactive is a leading independent video game developer known for delivering exciting experiences across PC, consoles, and mobile. The studio employs over 1200 talented individuals across multiple locations including Toronto, Rotterdam, and the UK. Its activities include work-for-hire collaborations with major entertainment companies such as Disney, Sony, Activision, and Nintendo, as well as creating original IPs like Dead by Daylight.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Programmer to join our team working on a live online game co-developed with an external partner, released on PC and consoles. This senior position will be instrumental in defining cloud infrastructure strategies and maintaining backend systems to support an evolving game environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and sustain reliable and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal system availability and performance.
- Develop and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployments seamlessly into production.
- Manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring cluster scalability, security, and stability in live environments.
- Collaborate with developers to fulfill infrastructure requirements, optimizing resource allocation and improving production system reliability.
- Participate in an on-call schedule to promptly manage critical infrastructure incidents minimizing downtime.
- Implement best practices concerning testing, security, performance monitoring, and resource efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 9 years experience in infrastructure or DevOps roles, with a minimum of 5 years specifically focused on cloud platform DevOps.
- Proven experience working extensively with AWS cloud services and micro-services architectures.
- Deep practical knowledge of Kubernetes, including orchestration, cluster management, and application scaling.
- Expertise in automation and infrastructure as code, using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability solutions like Datadog, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
- A self-driven, solution-oriented approach to effectively resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate productively with developers, technical leads, and external teams.
